The victory avenged a one-point loss to Walton 72 hours earlier as Spalding (4-2 overall, 2-0 region) won for the fourth time in the last five games and Eagle’s Landing (0-4, 0-3) remained winless.
While Spalding led 13-9 at the end of the first quarter, Eagle’s Landing grabbed the lead moments before the half until a shot by Reid from just over half court as time expired gave Spalding the lead, 26-25, again and the momentum.
That’s when Twandallete Cotton took over for Spalding, scored nine of her 12 points, as the Lady Jags extended their lead to 41-30 heading into the fourth quarter where they coasted to victory.
Rounding out Spalding’s leading scores were Reid (21), Cotton (9), Desiree Corbin (9) and Grenisha Daniel (6).
Taylor Mason (11 points), Brie McRae (9) and Aandia Mayhen (8) led Eagle’s Landing.
Spalding continues its season 6 p.m., Friday at no against Woodland-Stockbridge (4-1, 2-0).
