Mr. Robert Philip Housman

March 31, 1949—Dec. 2, 2012

Thomaston resident

Mr. Robert Philip Housman, 63, of Thomaston, died Dec. 2, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Housman was born on March 31, 1949 in New York City to Florence Eileen Keehn and the late Philip Housman. He was employed with Thomaston Mills, where he worked as a warehouse supervisor for 13 years and also worked at Walmart in the distribution center. Mr. Housman served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, being stationed in Germany. He was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church. Mr. Housman was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Philip Housman, and sister, Mrs. Vivian Wright.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Suzanne S. Housman, of Thomaston; daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Renee and Jason Daniel, of Thomaston; sons, Mr. Robert and Lisa Housman Jr., of Zebulon; Mr. Erick and Kate Housman, of Quantico, Va.; mother, Mrs. Florence Eileen Keehn, of Long Island, N.Y.; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 at 11 a.m. from Mt. View Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Crystal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 from 5-7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the famiy has requested that donations be made to S.U.P.P.O.R.T. at 108 E. Gordon St., Thomaston, GA 30286.

Coggins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Eugene A. Potter Sr.

Mr. Eugene Arthur Potter, Sr., age 66 of Griffin, Georgia passed away on Monday, December 3, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Potter was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 18, 1946. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Potter and Lillian Luedke Potter. Mr. Potter was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served in Vietnam, and a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Potter; sons and daughters-in-law, Artie and Kim Potter, Todd and Megan Potter; grandchildren, Sam, Jeremy, Ansley, Talbot, Constance and Elliott; sister, Gail P. Hollis; brother, Greg Potter; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mr. Eugene A. Potter, Sr. will be on Tuesday, December 4, 20012 from 1:00pm until 3:00pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Following the visitation, funeral services will be conducted in the Chapel at 3:00pm. Dr. Bill Hardee and Chaplain Winfred Dixon will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Benevolence Fund, First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 908, Griffin, GA 30224 in memory of Mr. Potter.

Mrs. Ruby Ruth Nations

Mrs. Ruby Ruth Nations, age 86 of Griffin, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Spalding Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Nations was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on August 12, 1926. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bob Nations and Nellie Black Nations.

Mrs. Nations’ children, Margie Britt deceased, survivors, Mary Knight, Phyllis Bolt, Ronnie Ratley and Gary Ratley; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Ruby Ruth Nations will be Wednesday, December 5, 2012 from 5:00pm until 6:00pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Following the visitation, funeral services will be conducted in the Chapel at 6:00pm.

Mr. Shannon Lamar Lewis

Mr. Shannon Lamar Lewis, age 37 of Griffin, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2012.

Mr. Lewis was born in Riverdale, Georgia on November 12, 1975. He is preceded in death by his father, John Douglas Lewis, Sr. He was employed with Benton Manor as the Maintenance Director. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Regina Lewis; son, Wade Lewis; mother, Karen Lewis; sisters, Angie Watt and Kimberly Hammock King and husband Jesse; brother, John Lewis and wife Renee; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mr. Shannon Lewis will be on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Jerry Dorriety will officiate.
