The Griffin Police Department (GPD) responded to a location on Booker Street on Oct. 10 in reference to a disturbance. When police officers arrived at the scene, they made contact with 47-year-old Charlene Gaston and her 19-year-old daughter Brenishia Gaston.

According to a GPD incident report, Charlene Gaston stated to police that she was having problems with her neighbors. She further stated that three people had come outside to smoke on their back porch, which faces Gaston’s residence, and were being loud.

Gaston added that she had been having problems with her neighbors, whom she considers rude, since they moved in. She also asked that they get their kitten, which had come into her yard.
