Georgia’s legendary coach and athletic director, Vince Dooley, brings his popular book tour of Georgia to Griffin on Thursday, October 11.

Dooley will be at the UGA-Griffin campus in the Student Learning Center from 1-3 p.m. Thursday afternoon. The public is invited to attend the free event.

The Griffin Dogwood Garden Club is the host for a celebration of the career of the legendary coach. Books, collector’s prints, game day memorabilia, DVDs and more will be for sale, and all items purchased during the event will be autographed. Checks or cash are accepted only.

Dooley’s best selling book is his autobiography, “Dooley - My Forty Years at Georgia,” chronicling the span of his career at UGA. The sale also features “Dooley’s Playbook,” with dazzling artwork by Steve Penley featuring the 34 most memorable plays in Georgia’s storied football history. A children’s book is presented, “Hairy Dawg’s Journey through the Peach State,” as well as “Vince Dooley’s Garden — The Horticultural Journey of a Football Coach” and the just-released “History and Reminiscences of the University of Georgia” also featuring original paintings by Penley. The numbered artist prints are made from original paintings in Dooley’s home.

“These are fun events as we travel across Georgia,” Dooley said. “As it’s up close with fans of all ages.”
