The 8-team double-elimination tournament, held at Moseley Park (located at 1041 Miller’s Mill Road, Stockbridge, Ga. 30281), will feature two games today in a winners and losers bracket.
The games will start today at 4 p.m. as follows: #1 Woodland vs. #8 Upson-Lee, #2 Locust Grove vs. #7 Spalding, #3 Eagle’s Landing vs. #6 Stockbridge and #4 Griffin vs. #5 Dutchtown. In the regular season, Spalding lost to Locust Grove 11-1 Sept. 13 while Griffin bested Dutchtown 5-4 on the same day.
Game 1 winners and losers will play again today at 6 p.m.
Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students. GHSA Passes, GAOA Passes and Press Passes are allowed.
Directions: I-75 to Eagle’s Landing Parkway (Exit 224). Take a right on Eagle’s Landing Parkway. Go 3.9 miles to Springdale Road (traffic light). Take a left on Springdale until it dead ends into Miller’s Mill Road. Take a right on Miller’s Mill. The complex will be visible on the left.

Lamar County wins, Pike County falls in football action Friday:
The Class AA No. 7 state-ranked Lamar County Trojans football team upped its record to 3-0-1 with a 15-0 shutout win at Region 4-AA foe Taylor County (2-2, 0-1 region) last Friday night.
Tyler Scandrett got the party started for Lamar with a 37-yard field goal and the Austin twins Lawrence and Lance took over after that to improve to 1-0 in region play. Lawrence scored on a 10-yard touchdown run and Lance had an 11-yard TD run. Both point-after attempts failed and that left the final margin 15-0.
The Trojans host the undefeated Northeast Macon Raiders (4-0, 1-0) Friday at 7:30 p.m.
The Pirates of Pike County traveled to Columbus to take on the Class AAA No. 7 Carver-Columbus Tigers and were walloped 38-3 last Friday in Region 2-AAA action. Carver (4-1 overall, 1-0 region) led 21-3 at halftime.
Pike (2-3, 0-1) hosts Jackson (4-1, 1-0) Friday at 7:30 p.m. in its Homecoming Game.

Hawks sign former Ga. Tech player Muhammad:
ATLANTA — The Atlanta Hawks have signed former Georgia Tech standout Isma’il Muhammad on the eve of training camp.
General manager Danny Ferry announced the move Monday. The 6-foot-6 Muhammad is an Atlanta native who played at Georgia Tech from 2001-05. The swingman has played professionally in Europe, South America, the Middle East and New Zealand.
The Hawks have 19 players on their training camp roster.
