The three commissioners present heard pretty much the same thing from county Community Development Director Chad Jacobs and Building Inspector Eric Mallard on all seven structures – that each was unfit for human occupancy or habitation, each was 100 percent damaged, and the cost of repairs to bring the building into compliance exceeds fair market value.
With all but one, Jacobs recommended and the commissioners agreed to the owner having 90 days to complete demolition and removal of the building, in addition to clearing and reseeding the lot.
