The Griffin Police Department (GPD) responded to Spalding Regional Medical Center on Sept. 22 at around 2:10 a.m. in reference to an assault.

When police officers arrived at the hospital, they made contact with the victim — a 23-year-old male — who stated that he was walking in the area of North 13th Street and West Taylor Street when he was attacked by seven or eight black males who kicked and punched him while he was on the ground.

According to a GPD incident report, the victim further stated that he was able to get away from the subjects and ran to McDonald’s, from where he called his brother to take him to Spalding Regional.
