Griffin officer on administrative duty

Griffin Police Cpl. Chad Moxon is facing a charge of false statements and writings, according to the Spalding County District Attorney’s Office, regarding a domestic incident where he was shot by another man on June 12.

Griffin Police Chief Frank Strickland said Moxon “is on administrative duty inside the building.”

According the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office, on Sept. 14, after receiving forensic evidence from the Georgia Bureau of Investigations Crime Lab, warrants were obtained for the arrest of Moxon, 28, of Culloden, charging him with battery. false report of a crime and false statements and writings. The first two have been dismissed according to the District Attorney’s Office, and the last bound over for trial in Superior Court.
