• I know that some people can’t find work, but I can’t believe that in the paper and by word of mouth, that we have poor children that do not have anything to eat from Friday after school until Monday when school starts. Almost every church has a food pantry giveaway. They all receive food stamps plus other monies from the government.

• Georgia will win the SEC and national championship this year.

• I think it is time to stop printing My Two Cents. All it is being used for is hatred for our president, and not local matters that really need to be addressed.

• These idiots around here who are complaining about the new Kroger probably want to go back to using the horse and buggy, oil lamps and outdoor toilets. They don’t want any progress at all.

• I used to be able to watch good stuff on PBS but I don’t like these rock and roll shows they are showing now. I didn’t like those long-haired hippies in the ’60s and ’70s, and I still don’t like them.

• What our city and county government calls progress, families call it more taxes for bad ideas.

• I hope the new senior center will get our elected county commissioner a lot of votes and perhaps another award for the county manager. I don’t believe they realize yet the anger of those who live in the rural part of the county. Garbage centers closed, no dirt road paving, and little maintenance in the county. I see a “don’t care” attitude.

• Griffin, I got a deal for you. I want to open a produce stall on the corner of 13th and Broad. A half million will work. Thanks.

• Mitt did not care about people when he closed their factories and sent their jobs to China, why are you surprised when he says he will not worry about those who earn too little to pay taxes?

• School traffic on Springer Drive sure is fast in the mornings. Too fast.

• The way some people drive, it’s a good thing they trust in God.

• I don’t like either candidate for president. They’re both full of it, and neither will get my vote.

• These liberals are going too far. I saw a sign for a movie called Obama 2016, and that’s not right. Are they trying to say that he’s going to be elected in 2016? If he is elected this year, he will not be able to run for re-election in 2016. It’s typical of these liberals to not abide by the Constitution.

LovesGriffinSpalding..."HRH"? I think his correct name would be President Barack Obama. It is evident that yourself and Romney have no idea what is means to struggle to provide for your family, but that should be expected from spoon feed rich people who never once had to struggle. Of course Romney would donate millions to charity..its called a tax deduction! You never know when you or your children will find yourself jobless or unable to secure an income and one day become apart of the 47% that Romney refers to. Will you say who cares then? Its ashame people of this country are so disrepectful and can't even refer to the President as The President. Its not like he cheated to get elected, he was chosen/elected! If you want to refer to someone as HRH then move to England!

Sometimes I am left speechless, but my wife says, much to her chagrin, that I always seem to recover! It is a shame that people that uninformed actually get to vote for president. Maybe that is why we're in the mess we're in. Mitt Romney didn't say he didn't care for the 47% poor people who don't pay taxes. Why would he have donated over $4 million last year to charity if he didn't care about the poor? He said the 47% who didn't pay taxes weren't going to vote for him, so why bother trying to gain their vote. You should get your news from someplace other that CNN. By the way, why do you think manufacturers move to China and Mexico, etc.? Could it be lack of unions, or government control, or taxes, or lazy people who would rather get a government check? Just wondered.

And just so ya know, the movie Obama 2016 is not liberal, it's a rather right wing look at where we will be in 2016 if we re-elect HRH to another term. If you don't want to see the movie, I would suggest a vacation in Greece or Spain, cause that's where the US is headed. (oh, I'm sorry, Greece and Spain's economies are collapsing, in case they missed that on CNN) I do agree that HRH doesn't have much use for the Constitution, and we'll see plenty of that in his second term if he gets re-elected.

Why are people always complaining about dirt roads? What kind of road was there when you bought your house?

Romney may have been referring to lost votes, but please explain why a person running for President wouldn't have had more knowledge of just who those 47 percent of people are. To lump them all together and characterize them as people who consider themselves victims who think the government has a responsibility to care for them shows gross ignorance and a stereotypical rich boy's out-of-touch perception of reality. If he wants to win back some of the votes he lost with that comment maybe he should tell us what, if he is elected, he plans to do about those out-of-control entitlement programs that continue to enable those people who do fit his description.

70plus, I would agree it was probably not in Romney's best interest to lump 47 percent of people together, probably unfairly. And I would actually agree with you that hearing more about Romney's plan to minimize the entitlement programs would be interesting. But when you look at the opposition, Obama is interested in raising taxes (in a recession!) to continue funding those entitlement programs, which will continue to grow as more people find themselves out of work with corporate taxes rising and profit margins shrinking. Not to mention that those who can actually afford items like health insurance are seeing their premiums go up. Average incomes are down, and taxes are going to be going up. The government needs to set limitations on entitlement programs such as shorter time limits and mandatory drug testing (as working class Americans take drug tests for their jobs, so to receive government funds, an individual should be able to pass a drug test), reward those who work hard and take risks to better themselves, let the free market work and stop trying to regulate it to death. I believe everyone deserves a chance to succeed, and I think most people genuinely want to see others succeed, but those who don't take advantage of their opportunities should not be rewarded for their laziness, like not completing high school or getting a technical diploma

AS I READ FAR RIGHT SUPPORTERS SUGGESTING THEIR CAUSE AND CANDIDATES ARE ON A HOLY AND PATRIOTIC PILGRAMAGE, I AM REMINDED OF AN OLD CRACKER SAYING-IF THE PREACHER AT YOUR DINNER TABLE PRAYS WAY TOO LONG, HAVE DADDY RUN OUT AND CHECK THE SMOKEHOUSE.
