Board members considered a number of changes to the rules, which primarily deal with licensing, permitting, sanitary conditions as well as age, health and sobriety of both artist and client.
The current rules state that body artists must have yearly physicals and obtain a certificate from a physician stating that they are free of any communicable disease, such as hepatitis B and C, HIV or tuberculosis. As most counties in Georgia do not require this, the board agreed to make an annual physical along with a certificate a recommendation rather than a requirement.
