• I just don’t get it when it comes to my increased property tax by over $500 and property value increase of over $34,000. Particularly when two home residents within a block apart have walked away from their property, and another house two blocks away is for sale for $41,000. And yet my house has increased by over $34,000.

• I was sorry to hear that Neil Armstrong died. He seemed like a nice man. However, I don’t believe that Apollo 11 landed on the moon. I heard from a reliable source that scenes from the “moon landing” were actually filmed in a Hollywood studio.

• God forbid, should Obama be re-elected, the population should immediately go forth through our representatives to start and pursue impeachment procedures or our way of life will be gone to the way of socialism and we will no longer be free.

• The local braintrust, otherwise known as the Airport Authority, still wants to build a new airport, even though no one wants it, no one needs it, and no one can afford it.

• Is there a rule that your IQ has to be below 80 in order to have a comment published in My Two Cents?

• It’s time for a grand jury investigation into the tax assessor’s office and our local government. Is there no elected official willing to stand up for the taxpayers in this city or county?

• If Obama is re-elected, we may as well rename our country the United Soviet States of America.

• I would imagine Henry County is glad they did not make a water deal with Griffin and Spalding County. Coweta County has learned a lesson. Heck, our local government has not yet learned how to deal with its own citizens.

• I wish someone would explain why gas prices are so much higher in Spalding County than in surrounding areas.

• I hope people understand that while the federal government and the state government get a fixed amount of tax per gallon of gas, the local and state governments collect a sales tax on the price per gallon. The higher the price, the more tax they collect. It seems to be in their interest to keep prices as high as possible.

• Time to change the rest of our county leaders and see if things will change for the better. First step would be to clean the tax assessor’s office and appoint people that can do the job without outside, highly paid experts.

• Dick Morrow doesn’t seem to care what the people want. It is build a new airport or else. Maybe he is on his last term.
