As the only hospital in the area, Spalding Regional Medical Center received an A rating in a Hospital Safety Score Report that was recently released by The Leapfrog Group. That grade lands Spalding Regional in the top 25 percent of all hospitals across the nation, according to a news alert.

“This recognition is validation of the work that our staff does every day to improve the quality and safety of the care we provide to our patients,” said Spalding Regional’s Chief Executive Officer John Quinn.

For its report, the Leapfrog Group — an organization sponsored by Fortune 500 companies for the purpose of evaluating the quality of care provided by hospitals as well as to promote initiatives that improve quality and safety in those hospitals — graded 2,664 hospitals across the United States based on how safe they are for patients.
