The 32 NFL teams trimmed their rosters to the final 53 players last Friday and Griffin native and former Western Kentucky standout Bobby Rainey made the Baltimore Ravens roster.

Rainey, Western Kentucky’s all-time leading rusher, will be the third running back on the Ravens, behind starter Ray Rice and backup Bernard Pierce.

“This is a great opportunity and a blessing for me. It’s a dream come true, for sure,” Rainey said from Baltimore. “I’m still going to work hard and make sure that I play well at all times. I’m going to give it my best.”

Baltimore hosts AFC North rival Cincinnati Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. EST on Monday Night Football.
