Kiwanianne Club of Griffin. Will be accepting needlework for the needlework booth at the Spalding County Fair (Oct. 4-13). Bring items to the needlework building at the fairgrounds on South Hill Street on Sept. 17 from 9 to 11 a.m., Sept. 18 from 3 to 5 p.m., and Sept. 19 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Griffin Historical Consortium. This is a new group of Spalding County residents interested in compiling information about black history in Spalding County. Interested persons are invited to join. City of Griffin garbage pickup schedule. The city of Griffin Solid Waste Division is closed on Monday, Sept. 3 for Labor Day.

Monday’s pickup will be on Tuesday, Tuesday’s pickup will be on Wednesday. Wednesday’s pickup will be on Thursday. Thursday’s pickup will be on Friday.

Spalding County Senior Center. Closed Sept. 3 for Labor Day.

Adcock-Chappell reunion. Will be held Sept. 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. the East Coweta Senior Center, 300 Howard Road, Senoia. All descendants of John Stinson Adcock and Obediah B. Chappell are invited. It will be a covered-dish lunch and everyone is asked to bring at least one of their favorite desserts.
