• The Spalding cross country teams opened the 2007 season in the Jag Invitational. The boys team finished second and the girls finished fourth. Will Ficklen, of Spalding High, won the boys race with a course record time of 16 minutes, 47 seconds.

• Priscilla Bray Hammond received her license in ministry from the Wesleyan Methodist Church.

• J. Paul Folds was named the new president of the Kiwanis Club of Griffin.

• The second annual Griffin Tech Gala was held.
