The Griffin Police Department (GPD) was dispatched to a residence on Lane Street Sunday in reference to shots fired.

When police officers arrived at the scene, they made contact with one of the victims — a 38-year-old male, who stated to police that he was talking with his juvenile son about an argument he had earlier.

The father further stated that while he and his juvenile son were talking, his 18-year-old son got involved in the conversation. As they all began arguing, the father said, the older son advised his juvenile brother that he was not going to talk to their father like that.

According to a GPD incident report, the juvenile then pulled a pistol out of his pocket and started shooting at his older brother.

The 18-year-old male, who corroborated his father’s account of the events and added that he knew of his brother having a .22-caliber pistol, stated that his brother ran behind some houses after shooting at him.

Several GPD officers checked the area but could not locate the juvenile. The 18-year-old son, his father and his mother were all advised to call 911 if they could locate the juvenile.
