Bears QB Jaquez Parks
The Bears are ranked No. 8 in the AP preseason poll and No. 7 in the AJC preseason rankings for the 2012 season. Last season the Bears finished 9-3 overall, advancing to the second round of the 2011 state playoffs.
Griffin, in Region 4-AAAA Division B, has some company in the preseason polls within the new region. Division B opponents Jonesboro and North Clayton received votes in the AP poll and Jonesboro was also ranked No. 9 in the AJC poll. Division A foe Stockbridge is ranked No. 9 in the AP poll. Griffin will play all three teams this season.
Sandy Creek is ranked No. 1 in both polls.
Georgia Prepcountry.com has yet to issue a 2012 preseason football poll.
