U.S. Senator Johnny Isaakson made Griffin one of several “town hall” stops Wednesday.

Isaakson spoke to the Heart of Georgia Board of Realtors Wednesday at their monthly meeting at 6th Street Pier. As a Realtor himself, and the only one in the U.S. Senate, he said “one of the great joys is sharing my private sector experience in the Senate,” to explain the impact of current or pending laws.

One of those changes looming is the 3.8 percent surchage as part of ObamaCare on non-earned income, which is everything from capital gains to the sale of a home. “It’s a financial gimmick that only compounds the financial problem,”

Isaakson does not expect anything to be done in Congress until after the election. after which he anticipates “a long, arduous lame duck session.”
