According to a GPD incident report, several people were standing around Benton — including teenagers, children and a female with a toddler.
After police had ordered the crowd to disperse and people started to move north on North Second Street, police officers noticed several individuals arguing.
As they began to make their way to Benton, who was still swinging the ax handle and pushing people, a fight reportedly broke out during which men, women, teenagers and children were hitting each other.
Later that night, Benton was arrested at her residence and transported to police headquarters.
