About 27.4 percent (9,494 voters) of Spalding County’s 34,313 registered voters participated in Tuesday’s election.

This includes early and absentee voters as well as those who voted Tuesday.

All numbers are unofficial at this time and do not include provisional ballots, which will be counted and certified later this week.

The transportation sales tax, or T-SPLOST, had the most votes of any item on Tuesday’s ballot, with 9,287 votes (27 percent of the voters) deciding on the 10-year, 1-cent sales tax. Of those, 6,573, or 68.7 percent, said no with only 30.3 percent, or 2,814 saying yes.
