Teacher program returns to SCHS

Norcom’s Education Celebration, which provides teachers in the local school system with free school supplies to share with their students, started out about six years ago as the Kids in Need Store. Ever since, the event has been held annually while steadily growing in size.

“If it weren’t for a joint effort in the community, the Education Celebration couldn’t happen,” said Norcom President Hal Rahn Thursday when speaking to the Rotary Club of Griffin. “You contributed money, but you also contributed many, many volunteer hours.”

Financial donations will once again be crucial in helping buy the school supplies needed, Rahn told his fellow Rotarians, as the amount of supplies ordered is based on donations received the previous year.
