The Griffin Police Department (GPD) responded to a domestic dispute Monday at a residence on North Sixth Street.

When officers arrived at the scene, they made contact with a 22-year-old black male — later identified as Jerome Miller Jr., of Griffin — who was being disorderly, causing a disturbance and having a strong presence of alcohol coming from him, according to a GPD incident report.

A police officer tried to calm down Miller but was unsuccessful. Miller was then placed in handcuffs and seated in the rear of a GPD patrol car.
