GPD responds to armed robbery, shot fired at McDonald's

Minutes after midnight on Thursday, the Griffin Police Department (GPD) responded to the McDonald’s location on West Taylor Street in reference to two armed suspect inside and someone being shot.

As police officers arrived at the scene, they made contact with approximately 10 people outside the fast food restaurant, according to a GPD incident report.

One of the witnesses, who was near the counter when the incident occurred, stated to police that she heard a gunshot being fired and then saw an employee run to the back of the store. The same witness stated that one of the suspects said to “get the money.”
