Southern Crescent Technical College (SCTC) celebrated the grand opening of its Public Safety Training Facility with a ribbon-cutting Wednesday on the college’s Griffin campus.

The $95,000-building, made possible through locally generated revenue and state-issued funds, will serve SCTC’s criminal justice, fire science, forensic science and paramedicine/EMT programs.

The inside of the new training facility is designed like a typical residence — including donated furniture to create a kitchen, bathrooms and a living room — to make a potential crime scene or other real-life disaster as realistic as possible.
