• Three things the Georgia Bulldogs football team certainly knows how to avoid: Alabama, LSU and Arkansas.
• I was in Virginia last month and read where Amazon.com was coming to Virginia. Virginia, with unemployment of less than 7 percent, gets 1,300 new jobs. Georgia, with unemployment of 10 percent and lower wages, should be getting these jobs. What does Virginia have that Georgia does not? I read in The Griffin Daily News last month that Griffin keeps losing to other places on new jobs, but the story did not say why.
• If I was a Democrat, I would be hoping that the Republicans pick Ron Paul as their nominee. I think that guy is part Martian.
• Concerning the Cal Thomas column, “We need a stupidity test to vote.” If that was the case, there would be no eligible voters in Spalding County.
• I went to Walmart the other day to get some orange juice and accidentally scored against the Clemson defense.
• To all these goobers that want to see Mark Richt fired: Mark Richt is a good man and a good coach and Georgia is lucky to have him. If they fire him, other schools will be standing in line wanting to hire him.
• To the person complaining about the road paving in the mill village. Go downtown and check who owns some of the property. I think you will find your answer. There is something wrong when government officials are allowed to influence how tax money is spent to increase the value of property they own. Could this be considered corruption or an ethical cesspool?
• Reading the My Two Cents has inspired me to listen to “that awful rock ’n’ roll” and now I think I will grow my hair long, get a tattoo and an earring and start wearing women’s clothes.
• West Virgina scored 70 points in its bowl game victory over Clemson. That’s more points than any of their players got on the SAT.
