Coming soon to a business near you: A chance to unwind, relax and play an enjoyable round of golf in the Griffin-Spalding Chamber of Commerce’s third annual Business at the Tee Golf Tournament on April 16 at the Canongate at Sun City Peachtree Golf Course. Committee members will be going around soliciting sponsors and teams in the next month or so, so don’t be surprised if you get a phone call, an e-mail or someone paying you a visit.

This year’s event, brought to you by presenting sponsor Haisten McCullough Funeral Home for the second year in a row, is a great place to meet the makers and shakers of Griffin without the pressure of an office atmosphere. While many attending the event will partake in a game of golf, others will bemanning the booths at each tee and working on their sun tans as then chat it up with the golfers in-between holes.

A way to have a presence without attending is to become a supporting sponsor which will get your business listed on one of the green-side signs. Funds raised will go to help out Jim King and the good folks at the Chamber of Commerce.

The tournament, which goes off in a shotgun start at 12 noon, also includes a lunch provided by Chick-fil-A and Truett’s in addition to post-round heavy hors d’oeuvre at the clubhouse where awards and door prizes will be handed out. Awards include $100 pro shop gift certificate per player to the winning team, $75 pro shop gift certificate per player to the runn-ups and $50 pro shop gift certificate per player to the third-place team in addition to awards for longest drive and closest to the pin — with a chance to win a car on one of the holes.

Fee to enter the tournament is $125 per player or $400 per four-man team, which is $350 if you are already an annual Chamber sponsor. Various sponsorship packages include: Gold, Silver and Business at the Tee.

The Gold Package — which costs $1,000, or $750 if you are an annual Chamber sponsor — includes name/logo on printe d material, one Business at Tee Booth and a complimentary foursome as well as recognition on tournament day.

The Silver Package — which costs $700, or $500 if you are an annual Chamber sponsor — includes one Business at the Tee Booth and a complimentary twosome as well as recognition on tournament day.

Business at the Tee Package — which costs $350, or $250 if you are an annual Chamber sponsor — includes the freedom and opportunity to highlight your business in a host of ways. Bring your office to the tee and let your creativity lead you, You may want to have a give-away, hold a creative game or serve food and beverages. The choice is yours.

And, as mentioned above, if you can’t be there to join in on the fun, supporting sponsorships are available for $150 per green-side sign or $100 per green-side sign if you are an existing annual Chamber sponsor.

To reserve your foursome or a Business at the Tee booth now, contact the Chamber of Commerce (770) 228-8200.
