— I wonder what percentage of My Two Cents contributors believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy and believe that wrestling is real.

— I hate it when people drive really slow in left-hand lanes. If you can’t drive it, park it.

— I was disappointed but not suprised at Gwen Flowers-Taylor’s racist remarks after things did not go her way at the commissioners’ meeting. Also, her remarks that white people don’t want black people south of Sixth Street must mean in Lamar County since Sixth Street runs north and south and south of it would be out of Spalding County in Lamar County.

— I get tired of hearing this shop local stuff. I am going to shop where I can get the best deal, whether it is local, from a national chain or online. The same applies for the buying American. I try to buy American when I can, but I am not going to pay an arm-and-a-leg for something American-made when I can get it foreign-made for a cheaper price.

— The 12 days of Christmas begin on Dec. 25 and end on Jan. 5.

— We have to put a stop to all this cross-dressing in the community. It’s an abomination and a sin.

— I bet that Billy Ray Cyrus really does have an “Achy Breaky Heart” after seeing how his daughter turned out. She used to be a nice girl, but now she is just another Hollywood heathen, like Justin Bieber.

The other night I walked 2 miles around the airport road walking track and enjoyed the Christmas lights and music. There were people jogging, families walking with their kids and kids laughing and playing on the playground. Its what Griffin ought to be. There was no yelling, fighting, cussing, shooting, loud rap music, police sirens, etc. Are you reading this Gwen Flowers-Taylor?

Coach Aiken should not have been arrested for assault. Popping someone on their bottom with a plastic soda bottle is hardly assault. Coaches pat kids on their butts all the time. It's not assault. It's a "coach" thing. Both of my kids attend Spalding High (a boy and a girl) and they each say coach Aiken is not mean or spiteful. If he did it, he was being playful. He wasn't assaulting anyone. Spalding High administrators are overreacting due to recent politics. They need to leave coach Aiken alone.

This is so upsetting. My son played with Spalding baseball for 5 yrs. I have spent a lot of time around Josh. He is great with the kids. Honestly, I can see him doing this, but not with "inappropriate" thoughts. It was more than likely done with the same gesture as a pat on the back or a high five. I do realize that in our times today, you just don't do that. But, it is sad that we live in a time where every act is under scrutiny. People see the negative in everything. I support Josh and hate to see him going through this. I hope this passes quickly and he is able to continue teaching. He is a great asset to Spalding High.
