Wednesday, a resident in the Whitfield subdivision in Pike County called 911 and reported that an intruder had been in her house.
The resident, who was upstairs when she heard a noise, came out of her room to see what the noise was. Karr was on the steps leading upstairs, but then left the residence, the release states.
Authorities determined that Karr was a suspect after taking witness statements and gaining information from several security cameras in the area.
In an interview with authorities, Karr could not provide an explanation on why he entered the home, the release said. Karr was being held in the Pike County Jail and was awaiting a bond hearing after being charged with one count of burglary.
