Spalding (0-1) couldn’t get anything going at all Tuesday, missing shots and committing 27 turnovers throughout the contest. Rockdale County (2-0) took advantage of the mistakes by Spalding to race to a 32-13 halftime lead, dominating the Lady Jags on both ends of the court.
The Lady Bulldogs rolled over Spalding in the second half, outscoring the Lady Jags 20-3 to take a 52-16 lead into the fourth quarter. Spalding scored only 3 points in the third and 8 in the final period. Twandalette Cotton led the Lady Jags with seven points and Dee Dee Matthews added six.
Rockdale County had four players in double figures. Breanna Richardson led all scorers with 15 points, followed by Brianna Lawrence with 12, and Brianna Patton and Kayla Collins with 11 each for Rockdale County.
Spalding’s next game is Friday at Pace Academy in Atlanta. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m.
