Animal restraint changes brought up

The latest recommendation for changes to the animal restraint ordinance includes pen sizes based on the weight of a dog.

The Spalding County Animal Care and Control Advisory Board has recommended a countywide animal restraint district for dogs that will remain complaint-driven. The latest proposed change, based on direction from the Spalding County Board of Commissioners, allows only temporary tethering during special events or occurrences.
