The first annual Iris City Walk & Roll will take place on Oct. 22 at Griffin First United Methodist Church (FUMC) on Maple Drive, with package pickup and late registration beginning at 7:30 a.m.

The event — presented by Griffin FUMC and sponsored by about 100 Griffin area businesses — offers participants the choice between a 5K walk or bike rides of about 3, 12 and 24 miles. All of those activities begin at 9 a.m. and end about 11 a.m. at the church, where fruit and refreshments will be provided during a brief closing ceremony.
