The board is scheduled to take action on a resolution to honor late Sheriff Dee Stewart and set the qualifying fees for the special election to completed his unexpired term.
The Western Commercial Connector is also back on the agenda. The proposal for a toll road from from Hill Falls Road in Lamar County to Red Top Mountain in Bartow County asks participating counties and cities to join a joint development authority to privately build and operate the road.
So far only Paulding County has agreed. It was Paulding County that presented the plan back in April.
At least two other counties, Carroll and Lamar, have already said no. The staff recommendation is for Spalding County to also say no.
The Spalding County Commission will also have a public hearing on the proposed redistricting of the county commission/school board election districts at 5:45 p.m. Monday, prior to the 6 p.m. regular meeting. During the regular meeting the board is scheduled to take action on the redistricting map, which if approved would be sent to the General Assembly for final adoption.
The board is scheduled to hear presentations from the the Military Affairs Committee and the Memorial Wall Event Committee on the use of hotel-motel tax funds, and City of Griffin Redevelopment Services Director Frederick Gardiner regarding the Community Redevelopment Tax Incentive or so-called blight tax.
The board is also scheduled to take action on changes to the official county zoning map, a street light districts in Emerald Forest subdivision, architectural design review for two Twice the Ice locations, a chicken-que, the county extension agent contract and removing a no-through-truck designation for a portion of Wilson Road, among the two dozen-plus items on the agenda.
