The bash will begin on July 30 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Arve’s on East Tinsley Street. It will continue on the same day from 4 to 6 p.m. at Arve’s on Meriwether Street. The last bash will take place on July 31 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Arve’s in the Kroger Shopping Center on North Expressway.
No registration is required, as book bags will be given out on a first-come-first-served basis. The total number of book bags will be spread over all three locations to avoid running out of school supplies at the first location alone.
“Our reason for doing this is because the economy is causing a hardship for many families in our community and buying school supplies has been a struggle,” said Christian Ministries Hospice Executive Director Stephanie Freeman. “Many children have started school without the basic supplies to meet their needs, so it is our goal to fill that void for as many as we can.”
