Based on witness information, Montavious Diandre Jackson, 20, approached the vehicle of Ariel White, 19, and attempted to pull her from the car. A struggle ensued, and Jackson allegedly stabbed White once in the head and in the neck area.
According to GPD Capt. Dwayne Jones, Jackson and White live at the same Griffin address.
“They live and have children together,” Jones said.
Upon his arrival at the location at 8:24 p.m. that day, GPD Cpl. Luke Fletcher was informed that White was being transported to Spalding Regional Medical Center by a private automobile. Fletcher also learned that Jackson had fled on foot.
After GPD officers placed a lookout on the area, Jackson was found several blocks from the scene. He was arrested and transported to the Spalding County Detention Center.
Jackson has been charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery under the Family Violence Act. He has also been charged with cruelty to children in the third degree due to the fact that a forcible felony/family violence battery was allegedly committed in the presence of a child under the age of 18.
White was in stable condition.
