The seminar will be presented by GPD officers with a focus on signs of drug abuse and information on possible actions. Parents and guardians are encouraged to ask questions, and a question-and-answer session will be part of the program.
The seminar is free and registration is not required.
Asked what caused the GPD to host a drug-awareness seminar, Capt. Dwayne Jones said there was no specific reason other than to educate the public.
“In fact, this will be the first of multiple programs planned by GPD officers,” Jones said. “Future topics include bullying, social networking for parent awareness and information on gangs.”
