JACKSON, Ga. — The newly-crowned No. 1 state-ranked Spalding Jags baseball team kept its winning streak alive, beating the Jackson Red Devils 8-0 in Region 4-AAA action Wednesday on the road.

Spalding won its 16th straight game and is 18-1 overall and 12-0 in region play.

Spalding got two or more hits from Powell Krepps, Austin Smith, Austin Hurt and Zach Lerner. Lerner and Hurt each hit homers as well.

Dylan Griffin, Krepps and Caleb Gavel combined on a 3-hitter, with eight strikeouts and four walks on the mound for the Jags. Griffin got the win for Spalding.
