NEWNAN, Ga. — Henry Mabbett Jr. shot a team-leading 38 Thursday as the Spalding High boys golf team downed Newnan 155-160 at the Newnan Country Club.

In the process, Spalding improved to 6-0 in match play this season.

Rounding out Spalding’s lineup were: Davin White (39), Marshall Voight (39) and Carson Willis (39).

The six-match winning streak started on March 7. Teams that have fallen victim to Spalding since then in match play have included: Mary Persons, Eastside-Covington and Newnan twice each.

The team now defends its title in the North Georgia Classic April 4-5 at the Achasta Country Club where the team reeled off a school-record 294 last season.
