Griffin High football players Xzavier Dickson and Corey Moore have been named to the Macon Touchdown Club’s Super 7 Team.

Both will be honored at a banquet at 6 p.m. April 11 in Macon where the guest speaker will be former Maryland head coach Ralph Friedgen.

Dickson, a defensive end, signed a national letter of intent with the University of Alabama on national signing day.

The same day, Moore, a safety, signed a national letter of intent with the University of Georgia.

GRIFFIN GATORS REGISTRATION: The Griffin Gators swim team, for ages 4 and up, will hold its annual registration party from 1:30-4:30 p.m., Sunday, April 10 at the Scout Hut at First Baptist Church (corner of 8th and Poplar Streets).

ADULT SOFTBALL REGISTRATION: The SCPRD is conducting softball registration for the Men and Women’s Adult Spring Softball Leagues from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Administrative Offices, 843 Memorial Drive.

The last day for registration is April 1. The season opens April 11.

Cost is $310 for Women and $425 for Men. Only team registrations will be taken. Payment must be made in cash, no personal checks.

ANNUAL CHAMBER GOLF TOURNEY: The Griffin-Spalding Chamber of Commerce’s annual Business at the Tee Golf Tournament for four-man teams will be held April 18 at Canongate Golf Club at Sun City Peachtree in a shotgun start 12 noon, lunch provided.

Team registration is now open and information can be obtained by contacting the Chamber office at (770) 228-8200, online at griffinchamber.com or during business hours at the Griffin Welcome Center where the Chamber office is located, 143 North Hill Street, Griffin.

JOHNNY PIERCE TOURNAMENT MAY 1: VFW Post 5448, at 1205 West Poplar St. in Griffin, is hosting the ninth annual Johnny Pierce Memorial Golf Tournament at 8:30 a.m., Sunday, May 1 at the Griffin City Golf Course.

Cost is $65 per player and includes cart, green fees, lunch and social. Deadline to enter is 6 p.m. on April 26. Make checks payable to VFW Post 5448.
