CLARKESVILLE, Ga. — Rain washed away the rest of the Georgia/South Carolina Cup Saturday, so officials proclaimed the Spalding High Jaguars golf team the winner of the tournament, since it was leading after 18 holes.

“We started playing early and then the rain came and lightning followed, so the tourney officials decided to make it an 18-hole match,” said Jags head coach Rusty Hudson.

He also pitched a 1-hit shutout with 9 strikeouts that week, against Eastside High.
