Mrs. Mildred Mathis Huggins, 65, of Meansville, passed away March 22, 2011.

She was born in Ellijay to the late Clyde Mathis and Vida Mulkey Mathis. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Thomaston and had worked for Southern Saw Service in Atlanta for 26 years. She was preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Mathis; and grandson, Collin Huggins.

She is survived by her husband, Ken Huggins; children and their spouses, James and Lili Clement of Jonesboro, Kenny and Stacy Huggins and Lisa and Wayne Crook, all of Douglas County; grandchildren, Jonathan Clement, Cody Crook, Kelsey Crook, Joshua Huggins and Cash Huggins; sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and Harold McLain of Stockbridge.

Friends may visit the family from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 25 in Shiloh Baptist Church in Thomaston with the Rev. Milton Hill officiating. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in Crest Lawn Memorial Park in Atlanta. Mrs. Huggins will be taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service to lie in state.
