Griffin Christian senior pitcher Jordan Piland tossed a no-hitter and ended the game with a walk-off two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to give GCHS a 12-1 victory over the Young Americans Eagles Friday night in non-region action.
The Crusaders improve to 3-1 on the season with the victory, which was called in the sixth due to the mercy rule.
The Eagles run came on a walk, a passed ball, a wild pitch and an error.
Piland pitched a complete game, walking six and striking out 10. He even picked off a runner at first base.
Mitch Kimbell and Alex Lowry scored 3 runs each for the Crusaders and Kyle Daniel blasted a two-run home run in the fourth inning.
Lowry also had 3 hits in the game, all for extra bases. He had 2 doubles and a triple.
