MCDONOUGH, Ga. — The Spalding High Lady Jaguars basketball team didn’t play well at all Friday night, losing its final regular-season game of the year 72-40 against the Eagle’s Landing Lady Golden Eagles in Region 4-AAA action on the road.

“We had too many turnovers and there was a lack of effort on the part of the girls Friday night,” said Lady Jags head coach Demetrius King. “We’ve got to play much better than that during the upcoming region tournament.”

And speaking of the Region 4-AAA Tournament, the Lady Jags, which finished 7-17 overall and 4-12 in the region, will be the No. 7 seed in the tournament and will play No. 2 seed Eastside on Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. at Drew High School in Riverdale.

It’s a win-and-your-in situation for the Lady Jags: If they defeat Eastside Tuesday evening, the Lady Jags will clinch a berth in the Class AAA state playoffs for the third straight year.

All winners on Tuesday advance to the region semi-finals on Friday.
