Mr. Lyon was born Sept. 16, 1946 in Atlanta, Ga., the son of the late James Theodore Lyon and the late Bernice Marie Hyder Lyon. He retired after 38 years from Sherwin Williams. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Bostwick Lyon; and daughter, Cynthia Denise Lyon.
Survivors include daughter, Sheila “Lu Lu” Shelly, of Griffin; sons, Alton “Sandy” Lyon Jr. and his wife, Vanessa, of Griffin and Harold Lyon and his wife, Angela, of Griffin; brother, Teddy Lyon, of Texas; fiancé, Inez Bearden, of Griffin; daughters, Tammy Brown and Carolyn Corley; grandchildren, Jessica Lynch, Charity Lynch, Johnny Lynch, Alton Wade Lyon, Rylee Jones, Chase Frazier and Bridgett Frazier; and great-grandson, Makia Lynch.
Funeral services for Mr. Alton Lyon Sr. will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, in the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Martin Cemetery.
