Griffin High and Griffin Christian play opening-round state playoff games Friday night, Griffin at home against Lee County and Griffin Christian at No. 1-state ranked Deerfield-Winsor, while Faith Christian plays for the ICSGA 8-man league championship Saturday afternoon against Trinity Christian.

Faith Christian’s game for the Independent Christian Schools of Georgia and Alabama Association (ICSGA) 8-man league championship kicks off 1 p.m., Saturday at Loganville Christian Academy in Loganville.

The game pits Sharpsburg-based Trinity Christian (11-0), the only undefeated team left in the eight-man ICSGA playoffs, against Faith Christian (5-5). FCA and Trinity met for the first time ever on Oct. 1 at FCA. Trinity won 34-0.

Griffin High (9-1) will open the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Class AAAA state playoffs hosting Lee County (7-3) 7:30 p.m., Friday night at Memorial Stadium.

The teams have met only once before, a 49-21 Griffin win over the Trojans in the second round of the 2005 Class AAAA state playoffs.

If you are looking to get out of town Friday night, Griffin Christian (6-4) hits the road to Deerfield-Windsor (10-0) in the opening round of the Georgia Independent Schools Association (GISA) Class AAA state playoffs at Webb Memorial Stadium in Albany, Ga.

The two teams have never met.
