Griffin High is hosting Friday’s Region 3-AAAA championship game against Starr’s Mill because it won the region’s third tiebreaker — quality points (the sum of wins from teams defeated).

After the dust settled, the official count was 31-28 Griffin thanks to wins by Spalding, Upson-Lee, Dutchtown and Union Grove last week. Griffin held a 24-22 edge going into last week, but Starr’s Mill was only helped by U-L, Coosa and Whitewater.
