“Inside, you’ll see a magician who is willing to go to any lengths to bring his wife back from the dead,” said Artistic Director Robert Chauncey, who is also known as “the guy who scares people.”
“The Magic Show” is based upon the life story of The Amazing Mordecai, a man who dearly loved his wife and cannot bear to live without her.
“He was a world-famous magician, and as the story goes, he and his wife retired to the theater and opened a toy shop. Then, his wife died in a tragic accident on-stage. Now, The Amazing Mordecai will stop at nothing to bring her back,” Chauncey said.
Among other terrifying moments, visitors to “The Haunted Theatre” will walk through a magician’s workshop and come into contact with a living doll — among Mordecai’s first attempts at resurrecting his beloved — and the toy tinkerer who has gone insane assisting him in his ghastly, unspeakable endeavors.
“The Haunted Theatre on Hill Street II: The Magic Show” begins at 7:30 p.m. tonight and runs through Oct. 30.
With an all-volunteer cast, the show will benefit the programs and community outreach of Main Street Theatre.
All tickets are $5, and children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. For tickets and additional information call 770-229-9916 or visit www.thehauntedtheatre.org.
“We don’t recommend anyone younger than 8, but I know some adults who won’t make it past the front door,” Chauncey said.
