A “Free Friday Night Movie Series” will be held every third Friday from June through August at the corner of Sixth Street and Solomon Street. The Griffin Police Department (GPD) will be holding a public hearing at 5 p.m. June 18 at the police department to provide an opportunity for citizens to express their opinions concerning the department’s use of the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant under the Recovery Act. The GPD intends to use the funding to purchase equipment for the Uniform Patrol Division.
