The third annual Generations Gallery Writing Conference at The Village at Indian Springs will begin Friday and conclude Saturday.

The conference will feature a variety of presentations, discussions and workshops — tailored to help participants learn more about writing, marketing and publishing while encouraging personal interaction.

“There will be something for beginners as well as professionals,” said Anne Jones, one of the organizers and presenters at the conference.

While focusing on Georgia, the conference will likely include participants and presenters from all over the country. They will find themselves in a setting that is kept small on purpose to support one-on-one conversations.

“The atmosphere is very nurturing and friendly. The setting is just lovely. People don’t get lost in the shuffle. This conference is designed for a lot of interaction,” said Jones.

One of the local participants of the conference is Sande Cropsey, president of the Griffin Area Arts Alliance. Cropsey’s novel “Who’s There?” was recently brought to stage by the Main Street Players.

“This is just a great way to network and gain more knowledge about your craft, share what’s working and what’s not working,” said Cropsey, who will attend the Generations Gallery Writing Conference for the first time.

Registration for the conference is open to anyone, regardless of writing experience and skill level. The fee for two days is $100, which includes four meals. One session on Friday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., called “Open Mic,” is open to the public.
