ROSWELL, Ga. — Former Spalding High golfer and current Georgia State golfer Davin White survived the cut Saturday in the 91st Georgia Amateur Championship at Ansley golf Club-Settindown Golf Club. White (79-72—151), who completed his second round on Friday, had to wait until nearly half the field completed its second round on Saturday after a pair of weather delays Friday left the tournament behind schedule.

Nonetheless, by the time all was said and done White made the cut by two strokes. After his second-round score of even par, White went from being in a tie for 107th to being in a 10-way tie for 60th entering the third round. White — who was schedule to tee off for his third round at 1:15 p.m., Saturday — was still on the course at press time.

The 144-player field was cut to the low 70 plus ties after the second round. The four-day tournament concludes today. White finished runner-up at the Griffin City Championship last year after losing a sudden-death playoff on the first hole.
