With the execution of a search warrant at 375 Pitts Lane, Meansville, the Pike County Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. team on Monday apprehended 21-year-old Jeffery Taylor, of Meansville, who was being sought in connection with an Oct. 25 home invasion in Harrison County, W. Va., during which the homeowner, 61-year-old Terry Lewis, was stabbed to death.

“We did this at approximately 1:30 in the afternoon Monday,” said Pike County Sheriff Jimmy Thomas, describing Taylor’s arrest at his parents’ residence.

Thomas was uncertain if Taylor was a lifelong Pike County resident, but said, “It is my understanding that he attended school here in Pike County.”

Authorities say Taylor was the third and final suspect arrested in the incident. Also being held in West Virginia are 18-year-old Cindy Allman, who was taken into custody Sunday, and 21-year-old Alexander Bosley, who was arrested Monday.

“They (Bosley and Allman) were taken into custody here in Harrison County,” said Lt. Pat McCarty, of the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, the lead investigator in the case. “We have two confessions (from Bosley and Allman), statements from others they talked to and we do believe we’ll also have physical evidence. We’re processing the physical evidence now.”

The lead investigator went on to describe the motive as “a revenge robbery.”

“Mr. Bosley held some personal grudge against Mr. Lewis from the past. We don’t know what that was all about — he wouldn’t go into any details,” McCarty said.

Officials allege Bosley drove the trio to Lewis’s residence at approximately 4:30 a.m. Oct. 25, but remained in the vehicle while Allman and Taylor entered the victim’s home.

“He (Bosley) said he didn’t want to go near the residence. He didn’t want to go inside,” McCarty said.

McCarty went on to say that once Allman and Taylor entered Lewis’s home, Taylor was the first to attack the victim, stabbing him once.

“He (Taylor) stabbed him one time and they thought he was dead, but that didn’t work out too well, because according to statements the suspects have made, they got the bejesus scared out of them by the ‘walking dead man.’ They didn’t expect that. They didn’t know that could happen,” he said, describing Lewis’s struggle to survive the attack.

Upon Taylor and Allman realized Lewis was still alive, McCarty said Allman then stabbed him two more times.

Lewis was later pronounced dead at the scene.

When asked to describe the relationship between the Taylor, Bosley and Allman, McCarty said, “They were just recent friends. They only recently became friends,” and that he has no information why three individuals who did not share a long-term bond would have committed such a crime together.

He went on to say Taylor had travelled from Meansville to West Virginia because he had a girlfriend there.

Although authorities say Bosley and Allman have confessed to their role in the home invasion and Lewis’s murder, Taylor has not.

“Taylor never made any statement to anybody,” McCarty said. “But, I was notified a couple of hours ago (Tuesday afternoon) that he waived extradition.”

Thomas said Taylor’s parents are not facing charges at this time.

“They (Taylor’s parents) didn’t even know he was wanted,” McCarty added. “I don’t think Taylor knew we had a warrant for him — that he was wanted — until they (the Pike County S.W.A.T. team) showed up, so there’s nothing against the parents.”

Taylor, Allman and Bosley have each been charged with first-degree murder.
